ITDAOC was founded in March 2021. The founders recognized that there was a growing need for representation for internationally trained dentists (ITDs). At the time, ITDs had no where to go to get help. This led to misinformation being spread amongst the community of ITDs. The misinformation led to wasted money, failed exams, and unnecessary stress. There needed to be a reliable source of information for ITDs. A place that was looking out for the best interests of ITDs.
ITDAOC supports the unique needs of an ITD. We are a reliable source of information, your representation in any interactions with the Dental Regulatory Authorities (DRAs), and an advocate for improving the equivalency process.
For individuals who have not yet begun the process, you need a reliable source of information. Misinformation can be costly both in terms of time and money. You will need a reliable source of information for topics such as:
· The immigration process
· The NDEBs document submission and credential verification process
· The equivalency process and whether that is a good option for you
· Degree completion programs and whether that is a good option for you
· Life in Canada as a dentist
For individuals who have begun the equivalency process, you need a reliable source to help you get through the process. We can help you in areas such as:
· Exam planning
· Confirm the validity and efficacy of institutes offering training to ITDs.
· Communicate with the NDEB on your behalf
· Advocate for a fairer equivalency process
ITDAOC is a community of ITDs designed to address our unique needs. Become a member to access all of these benefits.
